Labor Day Weekend

This weekend we went to Michigan with some friends. We had a wonderful time relaxing, playing games, chatting, and hanging out.
The trip was going to be about 5 hours according to google maps - due to traffic and little children it took us 7 hours both going and coming. Things like this impacted our drive...
The girls were really good in the car. Coralyn has learned the song "Zacchaeus" really well after 14 hours of listening to it....she says, "a-keas, You Come Down."

The view from the house was gorgeous and we saw beautiful sunsets as well as Lake Michigan.

We were able to walk down to Lake Michigan however, it was 250+ stairs down (and up). There were multiple landings for those that needed to rest. Peter actually ran up the stairs in 1 min 38 secs....I am pretty impressed as I think it took my crew over 10 minutes to get up them.
View of stairs from the top...I didn't realize I couldn't see all the steps I would be climbing.
View of stairs from the bottom.

Peter & Coralyn went on go-carts....Cora posed everytime they drove past me, it was pretty funny.

We experienced Blue Moon ice cream which we heard from Jake (Michigan native) is a Michigan flavor.
It was such a wonderful time....there is talk of it being an annual event. We think that would be great.
(thanks pru for the picture)

We got home just in time to celebrate Tricia's birthday. The food was delicious and the company great and we ALL fit at one table thanks to Nate's handiness. Happy Birthday Trish!!! We love you.
