Kallyn's Dedication

We celebrated a great day on Sunday...Kallyn's Dedication at church which is probably more appropriately called a Parent Commitment Service.

Some of the things stated that we are committing to are...
  • continuously praying for our children
  • instructing them in the way of the Lord (Deuteronomy 6:4-9),
  • setting a godly example
  • disciplining them as the Lord would discipline us (Proverbs 29:15, 17; 13:24)
Always remembering that as parents, you are only able to do these things through Christ’s strength (Philippians 4:13).
Peter shared the verse we selected for Kallyn's life verse...Romans 4:20-21 (Kalli's bday is 4-20 and we like the heart of the verse).

"Yet he (Abraham) did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised." Romans 4:20-21

We were surrounded by family and dear friends. Peter rounded everyone up for a picture (which at the time I felt like we might be imposing on our friends but in the end, I am thankful for the picture....great idea Peter!) which was a big task.

After the dedication, our families came over a lunch and we hung out for awhile. The girls were "loved on" this weekend with all 5 of their grandparents here (along with their aunts and uncle and aunts' boyfriends).
