the 12 experiences of Thanksgiving

For those who don't know, Peter's family lives on the east coast as well as my grandma. We had decided this Thanksgiving to visit them so we could introduce Coralyn to those she hadn't met. After doing a price comparison we decided that we would drive out instead of flying. (one of the biggest expenses would have been paying for ALL the checked luggage). I grew up driving places but for Peter this would be a new experience. We left on Wednesday morning at 1:30 and drove to Philadelphia to stay with Mom Lewis. We were in transit for 17.5 hours (yikes!). Coralyn did wonderful on the trip. We came back to Chicago with an overnight stay in Pittsburgh...arriving home on Monday evening. I think the best way to summarize the rest of the trip is through a Lewis rendition of the 12 days of Christmas. Please sing along with us for the 12 experiences of Thanksgiving.

On Cora's first thanksgiving a 12th experience was
  • TWELVE people staying in one house
  • ELEVEN naps "missed"
  • TEN minutes late to a movie
  • NINE pj's worn
  • EIGHT bags of luggage
  • SEVEN states a visited
  • SIX dirty diapers
  • FIVE Lewis Cousins
  • FOUR Tollways paid for
  • THREE great-grandparents
  • TWO loving aunts
  • and a rented Chrysler Mini Van.

Here are the pics from visiting with the great grandparents. A priceless opportunity!!!
