We took our vacation at the start of the summer so we opted for a final event to conclude the summer. A good friend suggested a beach in Chicago that they had visited before so we went with that. It was a super hot day so it was a good day to be in the water and playing in sand is fun too. We ate lunch at the little restaurant on the pier and fed the parking meter at least three times as we didn't want overpay since we didn't know how long we would stay and we kept staying just a bit longer.
Cora was super excited to be going to the beach and upon arriving to the Lake Michigan beach announced that it was not a real beach but a fake one. Real beaches have waves and seashells. She collected a pile of rocks for us to take home in place of shells and enjoyed the chilly waveless water.
Paysen ate a handful of sand (yuck!) and had no problem with her clothes getting soaked as she crawled around on the sand. After lunch I stayed up on the grass with her since it was nearly impossible to push the stroller on the sand and I figured she had her fill of sand in the tummy already. The two of us took a little stroll and found a park and a water play area at the park. She played there for bit - giggling and laughing as she got soaked again. She is so fun to watch explore and experience life.
All three girls fell fast asleep on the way home. We ended the night with Panera, baths, and Cora got a surprise daddy date for dessert and a visit with cousin Annie in the hospital (who is being discharged tonight. Yay!!)
