K-I-N-D-E-R-G-A-R-T-E-N
What?! Where did the time go? We now have a full-fledged Kindergartner in our home. I can't believe the time has arrived to let our oldest take a little flight out of the nest. She is ready (as much as a 5 year old can be). She is willing (super excited to learn to read). She is available (lots of time available to learn now that summer is over).
She woke up ready to conquer the first day. We all prayed on the way over to the school. Kalli chimed in with a prayer of thankfulness that Cora can go to Kindergarten and Cora prayed for a "good" day.
Well all prayers were answered. She had a great day! Some of my favorite quotes of the day are....
Mom: Did you go to the bathroom at school?
Cora: Of course, not!
Mom: How is your teacher?
Cora: Oh she is great. She is fun.
Mom: She is funny?
Cora: No Mom, I said she is FUNNN!
Mom: How was your day?
Cora: Great. We pretty much just played all day.
Mom: Did you eat your snacks and lunch?
Cora: Yes, except the bag with all the letters. That was just confusing to me.
Mom: A bag with letters?
Cora: Yes, I didn't know what to do with it.
Mom: In your lunch there was a bag with letters?
Cora: Yes!
Mom: Oh. (looking through the lunch bag) These "chick" crackers from Target. I guess there isn't a picture on them to tell you what they are.
Cora: Oh, I might like those. All the letters were just confusing.
Mom: Kalli, ready to go get Cora from school?
Kalli: I will just stay home by myself.
Mom: What will you do while I am gone?
Kalli: Make me some grilled cheese.
Mom: (on way to get Cora) Kalli, did you have a good day?
Kalli: No.
Mom: Oh, why not?
Kalli: Cuz I was sad all the time. Cora wasn't here.
Cora's teacher is so sweet and we are looking forward to a great year of learning and growing.
