We have been to 2 apple orchards, 1 pumpkinfest, and 1 fall festival so far and more of these types of things are on the calendar. I love autumn!
Our first adventure was to Royal Oaks with Aunt Trish & Uncle Nate.....and it RAINED hard while we picked apples. Everyone was such a sport and no one complained. We ran into our friends the Rowes at the AMAZING restaurant...they got there early and picked apples and then ate. We ate and then picked apples so they stayed dry and we got drenched :)
Cora & Uncle Nate waiting for the wagon to take us to the apples.
Rain, rain, go away!
We sought shelter in a covered wagon-ride back to the farm.
Picture time.
Peter was out of town so we headed to the neighboring park district's Pumpkin Fest. It was low-key, fairly cheap, and beautiful out.
Kalli - not so sure about face painting. I had to convince the girl painting her face that it was okay she wasn't smiling and that I still wanted her to paint the pumpkin on her face.
Cora - requested purple butterfly on her face...which she loved!
Cora has recently turned a corner with her fear of animals....she pets them and doesn't cry.
It is fun to watch her be so brave at the petting zoo.
Next up, Jonamac Apple Orchards with Grandmom and Aunt Amanda (it was her 1st apple picking experience ever...what?? She grew up in the big ND and no apple orchards)
Kalli insisted on carrying around this rather large blanket and it seemed like she thought there was a baby in it that she was taking care of.
Enjoying the fruits of their labor.
Amanda, showing us how to pick an apple.
Cora is helping Kalli pick an apple....siblings are so sweet.
CHEESE!
