But Chicago has some great free things and one is a zoo. We drove down to the city and Aunt Amanda joined us for a quick morning visit. We picked Amanda up from her new apartment and headed to Lincoln Park Zoo (though parking is not free).
Our time started with Amanda's flip-flop (that she loved from India) breaking at the entrance of the zoo. She was such a trooper and we ended up finding shoes (her cute lil feet wear a child size 1-2) at the zoo store so she was good as new and to the animals we went.
Black Bear in the children zoo.
Tiger!! We waited to see any "big cat" and they were all in their back room and then suddenly this tiger walked through his cage to the other back room to take a nap.

flamingos - which Cora said, "mom, why are they not being nice to each other?" A few kept hissing at each other. Good to know she realized what was unkind behavior even for animals :)
Cora showing me her flamingo impression by standing on one leg. Note Amanda's new sandal in the bottom left of the picture.
And I realize that it might seem inconvenient at the time to wipe Kalli's face from whatever snack she ate...it is much worse that in every picture I want to wipe her face. It is noted and hopefully will happen less frequently :)
